Metro FM is an urban contemporary radio station broadcasting from Johannesburg. Listeners can listen live to this station on FM Stereo frequencies and on DStv, on channel 801.
This radio station sets itself the goal of epitomizing black leadership. It provides content that is confident, trendsetter and progressive.
In its line-up, it offers music programmes that showcase the best of genres such as Hip Hop, R&B, Gospel, Contemporary Jazz, House, and Kwaito. It also broadcasts entertainment shows, competitions, news and financial reports and sports programmes. Additionally, it provides traffic and weather updates frequently.
Metro FM is also renown for the Heatwave competition that launches every year. This summer event that stretches throughout South Africa rising up the temperature with a different line-up of A-List artists and DJs in each region.
